Terms of Use
Last updated: 23 April 2026
1. Service description
DayProof is a personal record-keeping tool that helps users organise and visualise their international travel. DayProof does not provide tax, accounting, legal or financial advice. All information displayed is informational and organisational in nature.
2. DayProof does not provide tax advice
The application does not provide tax, legal, accounting or any other professional advice. Day counts, fiscal-residency alerts and day thresholds shown in the app are indicative estimates based on user-supplied data and automated processing. These estimates do not replace consultation with a qualified tax adviser and must not be interpreted as professional advice.
3. Data accuracy
Data accuracy depends on the information provided by the user, third-party OCR and artificial-intelligence services, and barcode readers. DayProof does not guarantee the accuracy of extracted flight data, per-country day counts, country assignments, fiscal-residency calculations or the general 183-day reference. Actual rules vary by country, by bilateral tax treaty and by individual circumstances. Automatically extracted data may contain optical-recognition errors, incorrect dates or misidentified airports.
4. User responsibility
The user is solely responsible for:
- Verifying all data before presenting it to any tax authority, government body or professional adviser.
- Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the information entered.
- Consulting a qualified tax professional to determine residency obligations.
- Retaining the original documents (tickets, boarding passes and the like).
5. Limitation of liability
DayProof, its operator and affiliates accept no liability for errors in OCR or artificial intelligence, incorrect day counts, duplicated or unrecorded trips, software defects, service interruptions, or any tax, legal or financial consequence arising from the use of the data provided by the service or from reliance on it. This limitation applies even where the error is directly attributable to a failure of the service itself. In no event shall DayProof be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages of any kind.
6. Artificial-intelligence processing
By using DayProof, the user consents to their travel documents (boarding passes, flight confirmations and invoices) being transmitted to third-party artificial-intelligence services, specifically Google Gemini and Groq, for the automated extraction of flight data. Passenger names visible on the documents are transmitted to these services as part of the processing. The user may review and correct all extracted data.
7. Acceptable use
The service is intended exclusively for personal travel record-keeping. The following is prohibited:
- Commercial use, resale or automated data extraction.
- Uploading third-party documents without authorisation.
- Submitting fraudulent, forged or tampered documents.
- Using the service with the intent to evade tax obligations or mislead authorities.
8. Intellectual property
DayProof holds all intellectual-property rights in the service, including the software, design and interface. The user retains ownership of documents uploaded to the service.
9. Account termination
DayProof reserves the right to suspend or cancel accounts that breach these terms. The user may delete their account at any time from the "Personal data" section of their profile. Upon deletion, all associated data is permanently erased after a grace period of 14 days.
10. Service availability
DayProof does not offer availability guarantees (SLA). The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates or other technical reasons. DayProof will not be liable for the consequences of such interruptions.
11. Minimum age
Use of DayProof requires a minimum age of 16 years, in accordance with Article 8 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus and the applicable laws of the European Union. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Cyprus.
13. Changes to these terms
DayProof may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be notified by email. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Where changes are significant, the user will be asked for express acceptance.
